We are appealing for witnesses to an assault which left a male with a fractured cheekbone.

The assault happened in Cheltenham at around 1:45am on Sunday 1 October.

The incident which took place outside Under the Prom Nightclub involved a 24-year-old male who was attacked by a male from Birmingham.

The offender and three Asian males left the nightclub before standing on the Promenade; this is when the victim and his two friends walked past.

It’s at this point when a conversation started between the two groups.

The interaction is believed to have become heated and the 24-year-old victim was punched from behind resulting in a fractured cheekbone, loss of sensation to the left side of the face and a black eye.

The offender is described as a white male with short hair and was wearing jeans, a t-shirt and trainers. He may have spoken with a Birmingham accent.

Police are treating the incident as an unprovoked attack.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101 or email and quote incident number 51 of 1 October.
