Gloucestershire Constabulary are warning the public of a security firm who cold called a resident claiming they worked in conjunction with us.

A resident in Berkeley received the call yesterday (Wednesday 11 January) from a home security company. It was reported as being persistent and hard-selling, pressing for the resident to arrange a visit at their home.

The company claimed to be working with Gloucestershire Police in order to arrange these visits. We can confirm that we do not work with independent security firms and we do not ask security companies to contact residents in this way.

Officers have made Trading Standards aware of the call. Anyone who receives a similar call should get in touch by calling the non-emergency number 101, or by emailing 101@gloucestershire.pnn.police.uk
