You are invited to attend the Valleys and Vale Neighbourhood Watch Association Annual General Meeting which will be held on Monday 22 June 2015 at 7pm in the Council Chambers at Stroud District Council.

It would be great to see you at the meeting, Neighbourhood Watch has a big part to play in helping our communities to stay safe by supporting our Police Officers and Police Community Support Officers in their important roles and now more than ever the support is needed.

We will have as our guest speaker the Senior Police Officer for Stroud District which is coterminous with the Valleys and Vale Watch area so wherever you are a coordinator he is the man in charge.

In addition you will see that we are providing training for coordinators on Crime Prevention and Fire Safety so in your role you will be able to help your watch identify simple crime risks and advise accordingly in addition you will be able to assist the Fire Service by identifying people in your watch who would benefit from smoke alarms or people who put themselves and neighbours at risk from fire by “hoarding”.

The dates and details for the training are as follows:

Stroud Fire Station

  • Tuesday 12 May 2015 at 7pm
  • Tuesday 9 June 2015 at 7pm

Dursley Fire Station

  • Tuesday 19 May 2015 at 7pm
  • Tuesday 16 June 2015 at 7pm

The training will be given by Dave McFarlane from the Police and Steve Bateman from the Fire Service.

There are 40 spaces available for each date so book early to avoid disappointment. To book your place email

I look forward to seeing you all on 22 June 2015 at 7pm.

Philip Sullivan MBE
