A 14-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital after a collision in Wanswell, Berkeley.

The boy, from Berkeley, was on a bike when he was in collision with a Volkswagen Polo under the railway bridge on Station Road at around 7.35pm yesterday (Friday 20 May).

He was airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol and remains there in a life threatening condition.

No one else was injured.

The road was closed while a collision investigation took place and reopened just after 12.30am today (Saturday 21 May).

Anyone who witnessed the collision but hasn't spoken to police should call 101 and quote incident 479 of 20 May.
