Police officers in Stroud have been monitoring the speed of vehicles in one of the town’s 20mph zones.

On Saturday 30 January, two PCSOs carried out speed checks on London Road between Cornhill and Waitrose roundabout, where 566 vehicles were observed over a 190 minute time period. 66 vehicles were recorded travelling over the 20mph speed limit, three of which were driving at over 30mph.

PCSOs Nicky Underwood and Gary Lynch are pictured below with the results.

The speed check was put in place after Stroud District Council passed on a complaint to police regarding speeding in the area.

An advisory letter will be sent to the registered owners of the vehicles in due course, whilst the local policing team continue with regular speed checks.
