Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision on the A433 at Thames Head this morning (Thursday 6 October).

The collision happened at 9.05am and involved a blue Vauxhall Astra and a black Ford S-Max. Officers are still establishing whether a van was also involved.

The driver of the Astra, a 37-year-old man, suffered wrist, pelvic and leg injuries that are considered serious. He has been taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

A man who was driving the Ford S-Max has been taken to Great Western Hospital in Swindon with minor injuries.

Diversions were put in place so a full collision investigation could take place.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or any of the vehicles being driven prior to the crash is urged to call 101 and quote incident 89 of 6 October.

Officers are also keen for anyone with dashcam footage to make contact.
