Four people have been arrested following a collision in Cheltenham this morning, Monday 14 May.
Police were called at about 11.35am after a Ford Kuga collided with the steps of Hesters Way Library in Goldsmith Road.
The driver and passengers left the scene but four people, two men and two women, were subsequently located and arrested in connection with the incident.
A 41-year-old man from Moreton-in-Marsh was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop/report an accident; a 42-year-old man from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and breach of the peace; a 40-year-old woman from Evesham was arrested on suspicion of affray; and a 37-year-old woman from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.
They are currently in custody awaiting questioning.
Officers are also investigating an earlier incident in Old Gloucester Road where a similar vehicle failed to stop after colliding with a car, causing damage.
Anyone who witnessed either of the incidents, or has information which would help police with their enquiries, is asked to call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 quoting incidents 166 (Hesters Way) and 174 (Old Gloucester Road) of 14 May.
