Gloucestershire Police, Ambulance and Fire emergency services were called around 9.15am this morning to a serious road traffic collision on the Saltway, a minor, unclassified road near Northleach.

Two vehicles were involved in the collision, an artic flatbed lorry and a blue Vauxhall Corsa which was driven by a 32 year old woman from Cheltenham.

Sadly, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics and her family have now been informed.

Roads in the area were closed for several areas whilst officers carried out their investigations.  These are now complete and roads have been reopened.

Sgt David Kania is from Gloucestershire’s Road Policing unit.  He is asking anyone who was in the area at the time to contact the police.

“The circumstances of this are tragic and our thoughts are with all the parties concerned, particularly with the lady's family.  We would really like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and might have seen something.  Please call our Force Control Room on 101, quoting incident 81 of March 11.”
