The family of a man from Cheltenham who died in a collision on Friday 16 June have paid tribute to him.

Thomas Dunleavy, aged 48, died following a collision with a vehicle while he was cycling along Priors Road, Cheltenham, shortly before 9pm.

His family said: "Thomas was the youngest son of Jo and Martin and leaves behind two brothers, two sisters and his beloved dog Sonny.

"Thomas was a quiet, single chap who kept very much to himself, with a very caring and generous nature.

"He occupied his time working for Inclusion, Gloucestershire, was on many committees and actively involved in disability awareness including Voices Gloucestershire.

"He met up with his friends in his free time and was regularly seen walking his dog Sonny around the local neighbourhood.

"We would like to thank everyone who stopped at the scene and tried to help him, especially the off duty doctor and the ambulance.

"We would also like to thank the police and our family liaison officer.

"We really appreciate all the kind messages of sympathy, support and prayers form family, friends and neighbours."

Funeral arrangements will be released at a later date.

Two people arrested in relation to the incident were released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Anyone who witnessed the collision should contact police on 101 and quote incident 505 of 16/6/17.
