Officers investigating a distraction theft at a property in Tetbury have released an e-fit of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.
At 10.30pm on Monday 30 April, a resident in Shipton Moyne answered the front door of his house to find a man who was claiming to be a police officer.
The offender stated that he had two men detained in his car who were in possession of a large amount of money and that the victim needed to check that this money hadn’t been stolen from his house.
The victim had a look around and this is when the offender left with his wallet before attempting to withdraw money from an ATM in Yate around an hour later.
The offender was wearing a yellow high visibility jacket with a grey top and dark trousers and is thought to be in his 40s or 50s.
Anyone who recognises the man in the e-fit should call 101 quoting incident number 94 of 1 May.
