On Saturday 6th June, Dursley Community Speedwatch was joined by members of Dursley Neighbourhood Policing Team to target speeding motorists on Uley Road.

During the 2 hours, 6 vehicles were caught exceeding the speed limit which resulted in them receiving a Traffic Offence Report and 1 vehicle received a Section 59 Notice for anti-social driving.

PCSO Joshua Griffiths said:

"We value the work carried out by members of Dursley Community Speedwatch and over the last year it has been obvious that the work they have been doing has made a great difference in reducing the speed in which vehicles travel within the Dursley area,  however there is still a small minority that choose to break the speed limit.

"Dursley Community Speedwatch has identified Uley Road as an area where there is concern over vehicles exceeding the speed limit.  Since we value the work carried out by these volunteers,  we decided to join the Community Speedwatch members in a 2 hour operation.

"Out of the 6 Traffic Offence Reports issued, 5 of the motorists were local to Dursley and 4 of the tickets issued were issued to drivers carrying children.  Please be considerate whilst driving through Dursley, by exceeding the speed limit you are putting YOUR Children, YOUR Family or YOUR Friends at risk".
