We're looking for the driver of a blue car which left the scene of a collision on the A417 Brockworth bypass early on Sunday morning.

At about 5.30am, a mother was taking her daughter to work in a grey Renault Clio, when the car was hit from behind, causing it to spin out of control, overturn and skid down the road on its roof.

The offending driver - in what is thought to be a dark blue VW - then drove off leaving the two women suspended upside down in their vehicle. They were able to scramble out of the smashed rear window with fortunately only minor injuries, but suffering shock.

We appreciate the assistance of an HGV driver who appeared at the scene soon after and helped to protect the two women from further harm.

Anyone who witnessed or has any knowledge of the collision, or who has seen a blue VW vehicle with front nearside damage, or the driver him/herself is asked to call 101, quoting incident 115 of 28/5/17.
