Back in September we appealed for information after four dogs were stolen from a kennel at a property in Chipping Norton.

We are pleased to report one of the English Springer Spaniels has now been reunited with its owners after it had been sold on and its microchip was scanned by a vet.

A man saw the dog advertised for sale on Facebook and met with a male in a car park in Kidderminster where £170 cash was handed over for the dog.

The new owner took the six-month-old dog to get microchipped but it already had been by its previous owners who were then contacted and reunited with the dog.

If a deal seems as though it is too good to be true, it probably is and you would be right to question it or be wary of it.

We are still appealing for information to locate the two other brown and white microchipped six-month-old English Springer Spaniels and a white six-year-old Jack Russell Terrier after they were taken on 25 September.

Has someone offered to sell you dogs? If you have been offered these dogs for sale or have any information about this incident please call us on 101 or email 101@gloucestershire.police.uk and quote incident 303 of 25/9.
