Gloucestershire Police are investigating a report, received last week, of a dog attack that occurred on 19 April 2017 in a property in Swindon Road, Cheltenham.

The dog, a black Staffie/Lurcher cross, attacked a 4 year old girl causing injuries to her face and nose which required surgery and stitches.  It's also been reported that the same dog bit female member of staff on the hand in Waitrose, Cheltenham on 5 April 2017.

Yesterday afternoon police executed a Magistrate's warrant issued under the S5(2) Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 to seize the dog  from the Swindon Road property.  It will be retained by the Court pending further investigations.
