Officers are reminding people to review their security after three linked burglaries in Staverton at the end of November, including one that led to the victim suffering further anguish.
They happened overnight on Tuesday 21 November going into Wednesday 22 November.
The burglar attempted to break into one house on Gloucester Road and was then successful in getting into another via an insecure window and stealing a purse while the victim was home.
In the third burglary on the same night and on the same road a house was entered through an insecure window while the victims were home and a number of keys were taken from a coat.
That led to the victims' car being driven away and a sum of cash and computer equipment being taken from the vehicle.
Later on a further address was entered with a key from the original burglary and more money was taken.
Officers are appealing for anyone with information on the break-ins to call 101 and quote incident 36 of 22 November.
They are also reminding people of the security advice available as part of Gloucestershire Constabulary's burglary awareness campaign Operation Switch, available to view here: www.gloucestershire.police.uk/stolenmemories/ and also advice around car crime available here: www.police.uk/crime-prevention-advice/vehicle-crime/
