Incident Number: 43 of 11 June

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a burglary at a property in Cheltenham in the early hours of this morning (11 June).

Police received a report at 2.45am that attempts were being made to enter cars in Haywards Road.

Shortly after this, a householder in Oakley Road disturbed an offender who was trying to enter their property via the bathroom window.

Officers attended and a co-ordinated search followed where police dog Sascha tracked a scent for 45 minutes whilst identifying further cars and properties that had been targeted in the area.

This led to officers disturbing a burglary which was taking place on Priors Road.

The offender fled the scene however the officer and a helicopter from the National Police Air Service (NPAS) located and arrested the boy.

He remains in custody at this time.
