Incident Number: 22 of 29 July

Officers in Gloucester are appealing for witnesses to an assault which took place during the early hours of yesterday morning (29 July).

The assault took place at the junction of Hucclecote Road and Sussex Gardens at shortly before 1am.

The victim was cycling when a taxi containing a number of people stopped alongside him and an altercation broke out which resulted in the man being punched, kicked and stamped on.

The victim fell unconscious and his phone was taken during the assault.

The man was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital to be checked over.

It's believed that the taxi driver and two women were present at the time of the assault and they may be able to help with our enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could help police with the investigation is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 22 of 29 July.
