Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision which occurred shortly before 8.30am today, Wednesday 18 October, on the B4632 Broadway Road just outside of Winchcombe.

A white scaffolding flatbed Iveco, driven by a 22-year-old man from the Malvern area, was travelling from Toddington towards Winchcombe when a red Kia hatchback being driven in the opposite direction by a 36 year-old-man from Cheltenham crossed the double white lines and hit the Iveco head on.

The Kia left the road and came to rest on top of a hedge and gate next to the road, trapping the driver inside.

Officers from Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service attended the collision and extricated the driver of the Kia. He was then taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital by paramedics with suspected multiple leg fractures.

The passenger from the Iveco was taken to hospital with suspected fractured ribs.

Officers investigating the crash would like to hear from anyone, who has not yet been spoken to by the police, who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dash-cam footage that may assist with the investigation.
