Community Highlighted Concern

What is a community highlighted concern?

A community highlighted concern is what your Neighbourhood team will be working on as a priority for your area. These are identified on a monthly basis as a result of a police priority setting meeting which take into account:

  • Information provided to the Community Safety Partnership
  • Information received from your local councillor
  • Community concerns raised through this website

Once prioritised your local team will work towards tackling these issues with the community and if necessary utilise the Time Based Tasking [TBT] process.

Day and Night Time Economy

21/09/2018

Community led policing priority for Dursley & Cam is based on the Police and Crime Commissioner's priority of "Safer days and Nights for all" and "Accessibility and Accountability". We are currently focused on getting the right resources into the Town Centre for the Night time economy . Local Neighbourhood PC's and PCSO's are carrying out high visibility patrols, working with our partner agencies to make the Town a safer place for all to enjoy. The Town community, also has support from our Force Response Unit and Specials, who will be allocated duties into the Town for larger scale events.

Safe & Social Driving

21/09/2018

Community led policing priority for The Dursley & Cam area is based on the Police and Crime Commissioner's priority of "Safe and Social Driving" and will be focusing on speeding vehicles in the area.

Before becoming a Police Community Support Officer he was an electronic engineer for 10 years.

Mark is a martial arts instructor in Leung Ting WingTsun originally under the European Wing Tsun Organisation. Charlotte King is a dedicated PCSO for Dursley and Cam

PCSO Charlotte King has worked for the Constabulary for 10 years. Charlotte started working as a receptionist and then moved on to work with the Royal Protection team for 4 years. Whilst working  in this position Charlotte decided she wanted to be out working with the public so trained to be a PCSO and has been working in this role for the last 5 years.

Charlotte started off as a PCSO for Wotton-Under-Edge and has recently moved to cover the Dursley area.

Charlotte enjoys the variety in the role of PCSO  no day is ever the same. One day you could be conducting a school talk to 100 secondary school pupils educating them on issues such as drug abuse or computer safety and the next you’re your trying to catch a rogue sheep stuck in a field at midnight in the pouring rain (I’m pleased to say the sheep was eventually caught).

The job can sometimes be hard work and distressing but I  do it because I want to help the communities I cover.

Charlotte has been a qualified level 2 Trampoline coach for the past 15 years.
