Georgianna has been working for the Constabulary since 2014 and has been a PCSO since joining. She is the dedicated PCSO for St Briavels, Hewelsfield and Woolaston. The typical work for Georgianna includes community engagements, crime prevention advice, school liaison, dealing with neighbourhood disputes and anti-social behaviour and supporting the Parish and Town Councils with any local issues.
One of the PCSO duties she particularly enjoys is working with the schools and building a rapport with the pupils. She attends various schools in the area and gives talks to all ages on subjects such as internet safety, road safety, and stranger danger. The foot patrol is also a pleasure, especially in the warmer weather.
Since joining the Constabulary, Georgianna has received some specialised training to help in the community. For example, training given how to deliver school presentations and she is trained in recognising signs of dementia and how to help and interact with people with dementia. She is also regularly involved in the specialist operation ‘Wheeled Respect’ which is a community engagement operation covering all aspects of safer driving and is geared more towards education rather than prosectution.
Not only is Georgianna heavily engaged in the community in her role as PCSO but also in her spare time as she is involved in charity work and organising community events. She also enjoys cooking, gardening and walking.
