How to apply for a firearm, shotgun or explosives certificate
We are now accepting new applications for the grant of shotgun, firearms or explosives. We will try to complete all applications as quickly as possible. Any applicants who require firearms and/or shotguns for their employment will be given priority.
Please note: all applications must be accompanied by a letter from your GP, as per Home Office guidelines. Applications without the GP letter will be returned as incomplete. This may affect your holding of firearms if the letter is not sent and you may be requested to store your firearms elsewhere. Any holders who refuse to provide a completed letter will not be renewed.
