Social distancing rules during coronavirus in Northern Ireland
The rules are changing and we will update this page as soon as possible.
People who live alone
People who live alone are allowed to visit and stay in another household.
Outdoor gatherings of up to 30 people who don’t live together are now allowed.
Please stay two metres from anyone you meet from outside your household.
Larger groups are allowed in some situations, for example:
- people working together who cannot work from home
All shops in Northern Ireland are now allowed to open. Restaurants and pubs can also now open.
People aged 13 and over must wear a face covering on public transport and in shops.
- physical or mental illness, impairment or disability which prevents you wearing a face covering
- taking medicine, eating and drinking when necessary
- lip reading
- to avoid harm or injury
- if you are asked to remove your face covering by someone in authority
