National Policing Pledge

Gloucestershire Constabulary are fully commited to meeting the National Policing Pledge. The National Pledge is a 10 point plan which sets out the levels of service that you can expect from this Constabulary. The national pledge is supported by the local policing pledge that is detailed below. Please click here to view Gloucestershire Constabulary's Policing Pledge.

Our Local Policing Pledge to you:

Our local pledge to you is to supply you with your local community policing team contacts, dates of your next neighbourhood policing meetings, details of your local priorities and the work being carried out towards those priorities. Our commitment for SCT staff is to spend 80% of their time visibly working in your neighbourhood, tackling your priorities. If you want to know how you can contribute to the priority settings and other work within your neighbourhood use the contact form at the bottom of your SCT homepage.

Crime Statistics

There are two types of figures available through this webpage. The 'Community Performance Statistics' can be viewed via a link at the top of this page. Crimemapper information can be viewed via the Crimemapper link. There are differences in the two sets of information/figures. Crimemapper displays statistical information on an interactive maps at a Safer Community Team level. The Crimemapper information is accompanied by a "find out more" tab, which contains contact details and information about the team also a commentary explaining the action being taken by the local police in relation to any 'trends' contained within the data. The 'Community Performance Statistics' are produced at the lower (and more detailed) community detail.

Quedgeley Show at Severn Vale

On Saturday 10th July 2010, PC Mackie, PC Kay and PCSO Hutton were busy handing out crime prevention advice, balloons and bike post coding stickers at the Quedgeley Show, held at Severn Vale School.

The event showcased local arts, crafts and services and was hosted by the Quedgeley Community Trust who have been holding the event for 36 years.

The event was well attended by the local community, who dug deep into their pockets to buy raffle tickets from the many charities holding stalls at the event.

One organisation there raising money, were the Quedgeley Air Cadets Committee, who managed to raise over £130, as you can see from their picture they were very happy with their achievements.

Gloucester's MP, Richard Graham attended to read out the winners of the various raffles and closed the event with a speech,  he also found time to have his picture taken with PCSO Hutton and PC Mackie.

Priorites for each area - Anti-Social Behaviour

Following a recent panel meeting, this priority was discussed in detail.  It is never-ending, and realistically police will never be able to achieve year-on-year, month-on month reductions in ASB.  Through no fault of our own, we will experience increases from time to time.

It was decided to give a short term target, to be achieved and reported back on before the next meeting in early September 2009.

In Kingsway, police will work with other agencies to achieve the siting of the Youth POD, to give youth services a base to work from, and the youth of the estate somewhere to go.

In Hardwicke, police will work with the Village Hall committee to provide a regular event for the local youth.

In Quedgeley, police will work with various youth organisations to boost their income and increase their appeal.

These will be reviewed at the next panel meeting, and continued, or new targets set.
