Priorities
- Area:City Centre
- Priority:Vandalism and Graffiti within the City
- Action:
- Several parts of the City Centre have been attacked by vandals causing damage to buildings, walls and painting graffiti. One of the worst hit areas is Greyfriars, this is partly due to the derelict buildings attracting youths to congregate there. The library has also suffered a large amount of damage over the recent months. High visibility and covert patrols are being carried out in these areas.
- Damage to the library has been greatly reduced and we are closely monitoring this area, increasing patrols around the library.

We are also looking to educate in relation to cycling in the hours of darkness with no lights.

Gloucester City SCT Take Part in Safer Internet Day
Members of the Gloucester City Safer Community Team took part in Safer Internet Day on Tuesday February 9 as part of Gloucestershire Constabulary's campaign to support parents in keeping their children safe online.
Retailers around the city centre and Hempsted donned t-shirts emblazoned with the Think U Know logo to promote the message.
The campaign aims to encourage children to take care when communicating with other people on the web and by mobile phone, particularly when they haven't actually met the person they're sending messages to. The campaign also offers parents guidance on what they need to make sure their children know about using the internet.
More information about the campaign can be found at www.thinkuknow.co.uk and also at www.swgfl.org.uk/safe
