Cotswolds and Stroud Division
Cotswolds and Stroud Division is a predominantly rural division in the Cotswolds covering an area of 160,000 hectares. The population is over 180,000 comprising nearly 80,000 households.
Including key towns and villages such as Cirencester, Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold, Stroud and Dursley, officers working in the Cotswolds and Stroud Division deal with 23% of all of the incidents and reported crimes in the county.
Chief Superintendent Gary Thompson is the Divisional Commander in charge of policing in the Cotswolds and Stroud area.
There is a Chief Inspector with responsibility for an area which corresponds to that covered by the Cotswold District Council and one whose area corresponds to that covered by Stroud District Council. A Detective Chief Inspector Crime Manager heads up the CID for the Division.
The division is made up of five Inspector Neighbourhood Areas (INAs):
- North Cotswolds
- South Cotswolds
- Stroud
- Stonehouse
- Dursley
These are supported by a Divisional Road Policing Unit, a Support Group, Operation Gemini and the Divisional CID, as well as a range of specialist officers and Civilian Support Staff.

Inspector Brian Clifford is the Neighbourhood Inspector for North Cotswolds covering the complete wards of Campden Vale, Blockley, Fosseridge, Moreton-in-Marsh, Beacon Stow, Three Rivers, Rissingtons, Bourton-on-the-Water, Sandywell, and Northleach, as well as the part of Chedworth ward not including the actual village of Chedworth, and the part of Riversmeet ward as far south as the village of Aldsworth.

Inspector Phil Offord is the Neighbourhood Inspector for South Cotswolds covering the complete wards of Grumbolds Ash, Tetbury, Avening, Thames Head, Water Park, Hampton, Fairford, Kempsford-Lechlade, Cirencester Chesterton, Cirencester Watermoor, Cirencester Beeches, Cirencester Stratton-Whiteway, Cirencester Park, Ermin, Churn Valley, and Ampney Coln, as well as the part of Chedworth ward encompassing the village of Chedworth, and the part of Riversmeet ward as far north but not including the village of Aldsworth.

Inspector Jon Smith is the Neighbourhood Inspector for Stonehouse covering the complete wards of Severn, Eastington and Standish, Stonehouse, The Stanleys, and Nailsworth, as well as the part of Amberley and Woodchester ward as far east as Nailsworth Stream, the part of Upton St Leonards ward including Brookethorpe with Whaddon, and the part of Hardwicke ward as far north as Junction 12 of the M5 (and the village of Epney).

Inspector Paula Hannaford is the Neighbourhood Inspector for Stroud covering the complete wards of Minchinhampton, Chalford, Thrupp, Rodborough, Cainscross, Trinity, Slade, Valley, Central, Uplands, Farmhill and Paganhill, Over Stroud, Bisley, and Painswick, as well as the part of Upton St. Leonards ward excluding Brookthorpe with Whaddon, and the part of Amberley and Woodchester ward as far west as the Nailsworth Stream.
