Priorities
- Area:Nailsworth
- Priority:To target Anti-Social Behaviour in Beechwood Close and Lawnside, especially at the MUGA.
- Action:
We have been actively involved in the Forest Green Action Group, which was formed as a result of community concerns in the rise in anti-social behaviour. This group has involved partner agencies, and local residents in problem solving to deal with the issues and the underlying causes. Actions have been allocated to relevant agencies to target their aspect of the issues.
From the police perspective we have continued to target high profile foot patrols in the area to identify those engaged in such activity and take positive intervention with them and their families. An example of this work is the identification of those responsible for the graffiti around Lawnside, for which they were ordered to clean the graffiti and compensate the victims of this damage. Another individual was ordered to pick up litter in and around the MUGA on Lawnside after being identified for being responsible for damage in that area.
This community pay back is very impactive on those who are responsible for such anti social behaviour and enables them to rectify their actions, reflect on what they have done and restores the environment which has been damaged.
- Area:Nailsworth
- Priority:To target Anti-Social Behaviour in the areas of Nailsworth Bus Station and St George's Church.
- Action:
St Georges Church
We have performed intensive foot patrol around the church and have moved on several people who have been drinking alcohol in that area. This has resulted in a change in behaviour of those individuals who no longer use the porch as a place to drink. We would remind people that the porch is available for general use and it is merely the drinking of alcohol and rowdy behaviour that is not welcome.Bus Station
Again we have intensified our foot patrols around the bus station to target those drinking alcohol and conducting rowdy behaviour.
- Area:Severnside
- Priority:To target Anti Social Behaviour/Criminal damage at Whitminster playing field.
- Action:
.
- You Said We Did:Regular patrols are still being carried out in Whitminster playing field.
- Area:Stonehouse
- Priority:To combat Anti-Social Behaviour and reduce criminal damage in Eastington.
- Action:
- To combat Anti-Social Behaviour and reduce criminal damage in Eastington.
- You Said We Did:Throughout the month of March, SCT officers worked on Operation Ben Levy on Friday and Saturday evenings. The purpose of the operation was to target areas where anti-social behaviour has been reported in the past, including the village of Eastington, the location of our current policing priority. Officers were engaged on foot patrol in these areas, and spoke to any individuals found. In total, officers carried out 44 hours of foot patrol and issued Stop and Account forms to 37 people. Alcohol was also seized from underage drinkers and parents were contacted when necessary. We will continue to concentrate on these areas now the operation has concluded, and welcome any information from the public that can assist us.Throughout April and May we have continued regular foot patrols in the village if Eastington giving high profile presence. In doing this we have identified several young people, whom the community perceive as causing anti social behaviour, and are now engaging with them and their families to divert their activities with the help of our partner agencies.

PS Kirk Harrison
I have been a police officer in Gloucestershire for 22 years. I am responsible for the Safer Community Teams at Stonehouse INA. I work alongside three Police Constables and seven Police Community Support Officers. The PC’s are funded directly by Gloucestershire County Council and this means they are additional to the budgeted staffing levels for Gloucestershire Police. Therefore their duty time can be spent dedicated to the Stonehouse INA.
We work very closely with other agencies to deliver services to our three communities and we endeavour to ensure that we are as accessible as possible to these residents.
I can be contacted on tel no. 0845 090 1234 or by e-mail at stonehouse-sct@gloucestershire.police.uk
PC Kelly Akers
I am Police Constable Kelly Akers, I joined Gloucestershire Constabulary in 2004 and after a period of training started in Stonehouse police station. I worked for several years responding to emergency calls in the Stonehouse area and then in April 2008 I became the beat manager for Severnside.
My job roll involves investigating incidents and crimes in the Severnside area and engaging with all of my communities, this can include being involved with school talks, foot patrol and neighbourhood coordination group meetings.
I can be contacted on tel no 0845 090 1234 or by e-mail at stonehouse-sct@gloucestershire.police.uk
PC Jo Booker
My name is PC Jo Booker. I joined Gloucestershire Constabulary in 1996 and since then I have worked mainly in the Cotswold and Stroud Division, as a response officer at Cirencester and Stonehouse, and as a local beat officer at Fairford. Over the years I have also been seconded to several major incident rooms throughout the County. I took over the role of beat manager for the Stonehouse Safer Communities Team in April 2009, and am enjoying being more focused on the community and its needs, and on working with our partners to improve the local area.
I can be contacted on tel no 0845 090 1234 or by e-mail at stonehouse-sct@gloucestershire.police.uk
PC Paul Matthews
My name is PC Paul Matthews. I joined Gloucestershire Constabulary in 2007 and have been stationed in the Cotswold and Stroud division. I initially worked as a response officer at Stonehouse, however I wanted to get more involved within the community. I took the role of Beat Manager for the Nailsworth Safer Communities Team in the summer of 2009. I am looking forward to interacting with the community and working together with partnership agencies to solve local issues.
I can be contacted on tel no 0845 090 1234 or by e-mail at stonehouse-sct@gloucestershire.police.uk

Mobile Police Station - When and Where
Date:
8:45AM Tuesday 16 February 2010Address: STONEHOUSE INA
Description:
PSCO Paul Bowman visits local rural communities within the Stonehouse Area twice a month at the times below (shown as Day 1 and day 2). See below for dates. Please take the time to speak to Paul if you have any community issues you wish to raise.
The service allows residents to raise local issues whilst providing additional services such as crime reduction advice, Neighbourhood and Rural Watch news as well as a property marking service. Other uses for the Mobile Police Stations are being identified and the officers would welcome any suggestions that community members would like to make.
The Mobile Police Stations will continue to provide an opportunity for less mobile residents to meet an officer, discuss concerns and pass on and receive information of interest. This enhanced contact with the community will continue to provide reassurance and assist in the reduction of the fear of crime.
