Profiles for your Community Officers
Profile of PS Simon Goodenough
I joined Gloucestershire Constabulary in 2004 and spent the first four years as a frontline uniformed officer in Cheltenham Town Centre. During the next three years I performed Acting Sergeant duties and also ran an operation targeting drug use and theft in Cheltenham Town Centre. During the restructure in April 2011 I joined Hesters Way Station as the community Sergeant. I joined the team at Tewkesbury in November 2012 and I am responsible for the communities of Tewkesbury and Coombe Hill. I have an interest in solving long term community issues. I know that the best way to do this is through partnership working and we are best placed to do this at the Borough Council offices. I ensure my team target the small number of individuals in your community that cause the most harm. Please tell me about your community issues on 101 or by emailing: tewkesbury.LPA.Communities@gloucestershire.police.uk
Profile of PC Kieran Bolton
I joined the Constabulary 22 years ago in 1990 with my first station at Cirencester. Since then I have worked in Gloucester City as a response officer and in a community role. I have been a tutor constable instructing new officers on their first active patrols. I have also worked in Hesters Way before moving to Tewkesbury, where I have been involved in community policing for seven years. I have an interest in tackling Anti Social Behaviour and safeguarding vulnerable people and community initiatives are also important to me. You will often see me conducting licensing checks in pubs on a Friday/Saturday night so don’t be shy and come and chat. Please tell me about your community concerns by calling 101 or emailing: tewkesbury.LPA.Communities@gloucestershire.police.uk
Profile of PC Sarah Sceats
I joined the Constabulary in 2005 and worked as a uniformed frontline officer for four years at Tewkesbury Police station. I then joined the community team at Tewkesbury and was responsible for Bishops Cleeve. I now work closely with other partner agencies to resolve community issues in Tewkesbury and Coombe Hill. Please tell me about your community concerns by calling 101 or emailing: tewkesbury.LPA.Communities@gloucestershire.police.uk
Profile of PCSO Bill Wren
I have been a PCSO since 2003 with Gloucestershire Police and was one of the first 20 employed by the Constabulary. I have been a member of the Tewksbury Local Policing team from the beginning. I am now pleased to be returning to the community of Tewkesbury and Coombe Hill, having previously been a local officer covering Bishops Cleeve, Woodmancote, Oxenton, Stoke Orchard and surrounding villages for the past three years. I find the role of a PCSO to be very satisfying, because being on foot patrol I have direct contact with the public. I find there is nothing more pleasing than someone saying "It's good to see you on patrol". Please tell me about your community concerns by calling 101 or emailing: tewkesbury.LPA.Communities@gloucestershire.police.uk
Profile of PCSO Emma Birch
I have been working for Gloucestershire Constabulary for 8 and a half years. I began in the Criminal Justice Department and joined Tewkesbury Local Policing Team as a PCSO in 2006. I have worked in the local community of Tewkesbury and Coombe Hill since I joined the team. I enjoy working in the area and meeting members of the public, working closely with partnership agencies and schools. If you would like to contact me, please feel free to do so on our non emergency number 101 or by emailing: tewkesbury.LPA.Communities@gloucestershire.police.uk
Profile of PCSO Chris Scott
I joined Gloucestershire Constabulary in 2007 as a PCSO following two years managing bars and restaurants for a large licensed retail company across the UK. I was initially posted to Bishops Cleeve, but have been working in Tewkesbury for the last five years. I always wanted to help people and make a difference within a community and this role has really given me the opportunity to do that. Recently, I have completed a degree course in Community Engagement and Governance which has really helped me to understand the links between the public and the private sector that serve them. Prior to this I studied Politics in Aberystwyth, Wales. My current remit includes looking after the Tewkesbury town centre community and acting as a local licensing liaison with publicans and off licences. Please tell me about your community concerns by calling 101 or emailing: tewkesbury.LPA.Communities@gloucestershire.police.uk
Profile of PCSO Karl Simpson
I joined Gloucestershire Constabulary in February 2007 as a Police Community Support Officer. Since starting, I have worked at Tewkesbury Police station and until recently I was solely responsible for the Northway and Ashchurch areas. I now work in the community of Tewkesbury and Coombe Hill along with the rest of the team. I have an interest tackling anti-social behaviour through the use of diversionary activities. Please tell me about your community concerns by calling 101 or emailing: tewkesbury.LPA.Communities@gloucestershire.police.uk
Profile of PCSO Sandra Jones
I joined Gloucestershire Constabulary in 2002 and worked in the contact centre. I then joined as a PCSO and was based at Hesters Way, then subsequently Cheltenham Road East Station. I moved to Tewkesbury Station in June 2011. I am keen on multi-agency working and have arranged successful events bringing these agencies and the communities together. I am keen to hear your issues so that I can work with you to solve them. Please tell me about your community concerns by calling 101 or emailing: tewkesbury.LPA.Communities@gloucestershire.police.uk
News
Bogus Callers
PCSO Emma Birch has been visiting isolated locations within her communities in and around the Coombe Hill area speaking to residents and advising them regarding bogus callers who have operated in that area in the past. Most people who call at your home will be genuine but sometimes someone may turn up unannounced, with the intension of tricking their way into your home. Genuine callers to your property will always be happy to make an appointment to call and will always carry an identity card with their photograph.
They wont mind waiting if you want to phone and confirm their identity or want to arrange a different time to call.
ONLY LET THEM IN WHEN YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY SURE THAT THE CALLER IS GENUINE
KEEP THEM OUT IF YOU ARE IN DOUBT!
