Appeal for Witnesses to Lydney Assault

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Lydney in the early hours of Saturday (July 14) that left a 16-year-old boy with a serious head injury.

The incident happened in Church Road between 1am and 3am.

Two men are believed to have been involved in the assault and the victim was punched several times during the incident.

The boy, from Chepstow, is currently recovering in Frenchay Hospital in Bristol.

Anyone who saw what happened or has any information about the assault should call Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident 55 of July 14.

A 26-year-old man from Lydney has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm in connection with the case and bailed to attend Gloucester police station on August 11, pending further inquiries.
