Gloucester City Officers Hit Top Gear to Raise over £500 for City Charity in Boddington 10K
July 4 2012
Officers from the Gloucester City Local Policing Team and staff from the Gloucestershire Emergency Accommodation Resource (GEAR) project raised over £500 for the charity by running the Boddington multi-terrain 10 kilometre run on Sunday (July 1).
The GEAR project works to relieve sickness, poverty and distress in Gloucestershire, particularly around the county's homeless people.
PC Mark Evans said: "It was great to run for a charity we work with on a regular basis and want to support as much as possible.
“Although it was a worthwhile and fun day, much of the event was under strong sunshine so those who took part were hot and bothered by the end. However it was brilliant for us all to finish in respectable times and receive the medal at the end
“Money is still coming in and we're hoping people will carry on donating money so we can raise as much as possible."
