Emergency Aid for Bikers
Gloucestershire Ambulance Service NHS Trust and St John Ambulance Gloucestershire are working in partnership to raise the profile and importance of bikers having first aid knowledge which has the potential to save lives in both a rural and urban roads throughout the county.
It takes around 40 hours of training to be able to ride a motorcycle and it only takes 4 hours to be given first aid training which will give bikers the skills which may save a life of a friend or other road user.
Bikers are often first at the scene of road traffic collisions and basic first aid skills will give them the core skills of scene safety, resuscitation and haemorrhage control which will promote good patient care and the potential to reduce road deaths.
